Look Red & Yellow Sunflowers

I have red and yellow sunflowers! So cool. (The biggest one is the red sunflower and it's now over 8 feet tall.)

Garage Sale Fun

BubbleShare: Share photos - Create and Share Crafts

We went out to a street of garage sales, after the Lady Bug Walk, and Kaden came home with a slew of toys and books. Both the boys have had so much fun playing with the Little Tikes Airplane. Kaden and Grandma built the drag racer out of the tinker toys they picked up. We found plastic tinker toys and the original wooden ones too. Kaden always enjoys finding new treasures.

Lady Bug Walk

This week we went to Whitaker Ponds for the LadyBug Walk. The kids get to borrow a ladybug backpack to use during the walk. Inside the bags are spoons for digging, little bug boxes, magnifying glasses and all sort of other things the kids may use to look at nature. Then a nature guide leads the little hike and teaches the kids all sorts of fun things.
Here's Kaden showing that the yellow square on his necklace matches the yellow dandelions.

Kaden had a lot of fun looking through the magnifying glass and digging in the dirt with the spoon.
You can't hear it, but here Kaden is singing the duck song with the teacher. "Seven little ducks go out to play, over the hill and far away..."
Kaden caught a potato bug in the bug box. He was so excited and when I was taking this picture he said, "Let's put this on my blog!"

"Watch out for the Sun Shade Monster." --That's what Kaden told the teacher. So funny! Such an imagination.

I got your letter Mama

Thanks for my letter Mama. I love to get mail!

(Sorry that the video is cut off...the camera battery died before Kaden even got to the middle of the letter.)

See My Sunflowers Bloom

"Look, my sunflowers has a flower on it!"
(97 days after planting the seeds, Kaden sunflowers are finally starting to bloom. The tallest one is over 7 feet tall. Not quite to the moon, but close.)

kaden's paintings

"I love my name that I painted. And I love it."
"I love my tree. I think my tree is the best. It has a lot of leaves."
"My name is great, I love it. I think it's the best. Heeheeheeheehee"
"I think my butterfly is the same. GREAT!"
"Oooh oooh, I really like this thing. Looks like fall."

We were out picking up some supplies for school and Kaden wanted to get a set of watercolor paints for home. He says that he really wanted it because "I never had it before, in my whole life." We spent the morning painting pictures. Kaden painted these all by himself. My favorite is the tree painting...mostly because of Kaden's commentary while he was painting it. "Oooh, these leaves changed color to blue...and this is a really crazy leaf. (the one that looks kind of like a rainbow.)"

My Friend the Beetle

You have to look on the wood beam to spot my beetle friend.

During lunch, out on the new home site, I found Kaden talking to a beetle:

"Hi Beetle... Do you like my eyes? Oh, I like your eyes too. Don't worry, I won't hurt you. Daddy wants to kill you, but that's not nice cause you are a nice beetle...You can eat little tiny bites of my sandwich and I'll take bites. Daddy takes big bites... Hey Beetle, it's me Kaden, your friend. --He thinks I'm mean, but I'm nice.-- Beetle I like you, but I don't like spiders. No, I don't like spiders. --Where'd you go? Beetle come out from under that board."

Family Fun!

Me and my cousin Ashlyn playing with bubbles.

Look, my sunflowers are taller than me now. My silly cousin Austin is running through the garden.

I love my cousin Ashlyn! My Aunt Julie, Ashlyn and Austin came to visit me from Texas. Grandma took Ashlyn and I to Chuck E' Cheese and we got to go to the IKEA play place two times. It's so much fun! Yeah IKEA! They have a big ball pit and coloring and climbing and movies. I love to go there.
